Welcome to Sinking Fork Elementary!

My name is Tammy Ferrell, and I am honored to serve as the principal of Sinking Fork Elementary School. I am married to my husband, James, and we have two children, Logan and Luke. Logan is married to Hunter Ezell, and Luke is married to Payton Ferrell. Our family has deep roots at Sinking Fork, as James, Logan, Luke, and Payton all attended Sinking Fork Elementary. Hunter was also one of my fourth-grade students during my time at Belmont Elementary. Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my family and our three granddogs—Ruby, Max, and Milo.

As a lifelong resident of Christian County and a proud graduate of Christian County High School, I feel truly blessed to serve the community that helped shape me. I began my teaching career in 2004 at Belmont Elementary School. After Belmont closed, I spent one year at Martin Luther King Jr. Elementary before joining the Sinking Fork family in 2016. I spent 18 years in the classroom, including 17 years teaching fourth-grade math, before serving as assistant principal at Sinking Fork Elementary for the past four years.

At Sinking Fork Elementary, we strive to create a learning environment where every child feels valued, supported, and encouraged to grow. Our faculty and staff are dedicated to providing meaningful learning experiences while nurturing the academic, social, and emotional development of each student. We believe strong relationships between home and school are essential, and we greatly value the partnership we share with our families. Families can trust that their children will be challenged to learn, inspired to reach their potential, and cared for by a team that is committed to helping every child thrive.
