Sinking Fork Staff

Welcome to Mrs. Carter's Website!

Thank you for taking the time to visit my website!

I was born in Pembroke and went to Pembroke Elementary School, Koffman Middle School (Hopkinsville Middle School) and then graduated from Hopkinsville High School.  I went to Austin Peay State University and finished up my BS and MA.  I received my Rank 1 from Indiana Wesleyan University.

I began my career working as a classroom teacher at the old Sinking Fork Elementary School.  Before becoming principal, I taught fourth and fifth grades.  Then I went to work as the Instructional Supervisor for Elementary Schools in Christian County.  I am actually a transplant from the Pembroke Community and I have to say that this community has warmly welcomed me.

The best part of being a teacher was getting to know my students and their families and then watching them learn new and exciting things each year.  Now I get to do the same thing with all the students here.  Our staff at Sinking Fork encourages our students to become lifelong learners in hopes of achieving their personal best.  The staff at Sinking Fork is talented and dedicated and works hard every day to make all our students the best they can be.  I owe a big thanks to everyone here!

The best part of my job is getting to know the students and working with them on a daily basis.  Their energy, enthusiasm, and natural curiosity inspire me, and in turn, I strive to provide them with the best possible education.

A quote by William H. Spady, who said, "All students can learn and succeed, but not on the same day in the same way."  I believe that it's really important to meet the needs of all learners using a variety of strategies.  I set high learning standards and behavior expectations for all students, and I measure their progress against their prior performance, and not anyone else's.

I take great pride in the work we do at Sinking Fork.  I hope your child's experience in our school is a positive and memorable one!
