Sign Up Today for STEM Camp: June 19-22nd

 Application Deadline is June 10; Space is limited!

 

STEM camps are free of charge and provide students with a meal each day the camp is held. Students who register by June 1 will receive a free t-shirt! Camp application and camp flyers attached for more information.(View links to the right >>>>)

 

The Christian County Public School District is offering four STEM (science, technology, engineering, & math) summer camps for students in grades 3rd-5th and 6-8th.

 

The camps are made possible through the Department of Defense educational grants received by the district. The district strongly encourages military- connected students to apply and participate in the summer camps. Students may sign up for more than one camp. Applications (see *attached) should be completed and submitted by the June 10th deadline.

 

4 STEM Camps Offered June 19-22nd

All camps will be held at the Gateway Academy to Innovation and Technology

705 North Elm Street Hopkinsville, KY 42240   

   located behind the Christian County Board of Education

 

Digital Gaming 101 (grades 3-5)

9:00 a.m.- 12:00 p.m.

Solar Cars (grades 3-5)

1:00 p.m.-4:00 p.m.

 

 

MineCraft (grades 6-8)

9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m.

Drones and Rockets (grades 6-8)

1:00 p.m.- 4:00 p.m.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 Descriptions for each camp are listed on the *attached flyers.

 

 

All camps will end with a community showcase open to parents, friends and the community. The showcase will be held the last hour of each session on June 22nd.

 

Partnerships with the University of Kentucky’s College of Education and the Hopkinsville UK Extension Office provide instructors and materials for the camps.
